Friends and Family CPR Course
The City of Acworth is a Heart Safe Community! The City of Acworth Police Department is partnering with the Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department to offer a FREE Friends and Family CPR Course. The course will be held on Saturday, March 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Acworth Police Department in the Courtroom (4400 Acworth Industrial Drive).

Acworth Classic Car Cruise
Classic Car Cruises are held three times during the Spring, Fall and Summer months. The first upcoming Classic Car Cruise for 2014 will be held on Saturday, March 22. Main Street in downtown Acworth is lined with classic cars from days gone by and some of today's best looking cars. The shows begin at 4:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. No entry fee is required, but a $2 donation to a local charity is requested to enter the cruise.
There is no charge for the general public to attend the event.
Acworth Art Fest
The third annual Acworth Art Fest will take place on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6. Historic Main Street in downtown Acworth is the perfect backdrop for 100 whimsical and talented artisans from around the country. Their creative booth displays will again decorate beautiful Main Street with paintings, pottery, metalwork, folk art, glass, jewelry, yard art and much more! There will be a variety of art to fit everyone’s taste and budget!
At Acworth Art Fest, a magical Kidz Zone is sure to make children smile, this vibrant play land is the perfect mix of creative art projects and activities. Of course, there will be wonderful food from Acworth’s own eateries, and shoppers will find delectable treats to satisfy their taste buds. This is an event you don’t want to miss!

Acworth Egg Hunt
The City of Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department and Freedom Church are partnering again this year to bring the kids of our community another evening Egg Hunt!
The Easter Bunny will be SKYDIVING in again this year on Friday, April 11 at the Acworth Sports Complex, located at 4000 South Main St. Acworth, GA 30101, and he is bringing 50,000 eggs filled with candy! The Easter Bunny will be dropping in at 7:00 p.m. and we are encouraging everyone to arrive by 6:30 p.m. to see his grand entrance!!
The hunt will be for all children through the 5th grade. The children will be divided into four age groups:
▪ The 0-3 years old group will begin at 7:00 p.m. (immediately after the Easter Bunny lands)
▪ The 4-5 years old group will begin at 7:15 p.m.
▪ The 1st grade – 3rd grade group will begin at 7:25 p.m.
▪ The 4th grade – 5th grade group will also begin at 7:35 p.m.
The hunts will take place on the football fields (North side of the Complex); all parking for the event will be available on the South side of the Complex where the baseball fields are located.

Mastercraft Pro Wakeboard Tour
Let the excitement begin! The Pro Wakeboard Tour makes its return to Dallas Landing Park on Saturday, May 17. The Main Event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour is a day of water-sports action, but not all of the action takes place on water. On land, fans will experience tons of great food and music; athlete autograph signings; chances to win free giveaways; and shopping at the most cutting-edge stores for water-sports equipment. This includes boats, wakeboards, wake skates, sunglasses and the latest in wakeboarding and surfing fashions. This family oriented event will provide a fun filled day of sun, surf and excitement for all who attend.

Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of the event at Dallas Landing Park: $13.00 for ages 13 and older, $5 for ages 6-12, and ages 5 and under are admitted free. Adult tickets purchased online before May 16 at noon will be only $7.00, plus you receive 50% off a 2 hour, 4 hour, or daily pass to the Terminus Wake Park in Emerson!

That’s only the beginning of the festivities! Riders and fans will head over to Downtown Acworth after the event from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for the Wakeboard Block Party. There will be plenty of activities going on including live music, great food, and fun! Pro Wakeboarders will be present signing autographs and participating in all the festivities. Adult Flag Football 2014 Season
Mark your Calendars! With a break out fifth season, the Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department has the premiere adult flag football league around. Records, statistics, player(s) of the week, write-ups and box scores after each game, and the Cotton Bowl to end post season play, the Acworth Adult Flag Football League is a joyful experience for those football fans that still love to play the game. Game play is 7 on 7 and teams may have a roster of up to 17 players. All players must be 18 and older. All games are played on Tuesdays and Saturdays at Amos Durr Field with no cost to spectators.
Start building your team and dynasty today! Team registration fee is only $350 which covers all your league expenses. Teams are responsible for providing their own jerseys. If you do not have a team, come out and participate in our Free Agent Sign-Up Day Monday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m. located at Logan Farm Park. Free Agent registration is $35.00 and teams will be selected.

Preschool Sports Camp 2014
The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department will be having a spring edition of Preschool Sports Camp. This is a non-competitive program to help three to four year olds develop basic skills for sports programs in the future.
The program gives children a chance to explore a variety of different sports all in one program. Preschool Sports Camp exposes these eager preschoolers to soccer, T-ball, basketball, and even speed & agility developmental sessions through 8 organized instructional sessions.
Parents come enjoy the spring weather with your child as we discover their potential to be the next big homerun hitter, soccer stud, and/or basketball superstar. Sessions are every Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. beginning April 15 and ending May 8. Every session will be held on The Horizon Field at the Acworth Sports Complex. The registration fee for City Residents is $50.00 and for Non-City Residents is $65.00.

Acworth Horizon League Playground Improvements
Come out and play! The Special Needs Development Group will be making improvements to the Horizon Playground located beside the Horizon Field at the Acworth Sports Complex! A ribbon cutting will be held on opening day of the Horizon Baseball Spring Season, Saturday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Horizon Playground (4000 S. Main Street Acworth 30101). The playground additions will include three large shade canopies, a cozy cocoon, and a large web climber.
Improvements would be not be possible without the funds raised by the Acworth Police Department's Covering the Bases event. We cannot thank them enough for all their hard work!
