Arts, Crafts, Food and Family Fun Labor Day Weekend
Horizon League Fall Baseball registration is now underway!

The Horizon League provides children and young adults with
developmental and physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in
athletic events, develop lasting relationships among their peers, coaches
and parents and demonstrate to them that they are an important part of
their community by creating an environment of inclusion for both the
participants and their families.

The fall season starts on Saturday, September 18 and runs through
October 23. The league is divided into two age groups, 5 - 12 year old and
age13 - 21 year old. League play is non-competitive and each player on
the roster gets on base before the opposing team gets to bat.

Horizon League Fall Baseball Registration
Youth Basketball registration is now underway. This league is open to all children
between the ages of 5 and 14.
The ages are divided at follows:
Co-ed-- 5 & 6
Boys -- 7&8, 9&10, 11&12 and 13&14
Girls -- 7&8, 9&10, 11&12 and 13&14
(All girls division are based on enrollment numbers, divisions may be combined)
The fee for the league is:
5&6 Co-ed: $105 for City of Acworth residents and $125 for non City of Acworth
residents
All other divisions: $155 for City of Acworth residents and $175 for non City of
Acworth residents

Register before September, 13 and receive a $10 discount. All divisions are open
until the maximum number of participants per age group has been met.

The fee for all divisions includes a team jersey and team shorts. Practices will
begin the week of November 1. All teams will practice for 1 hour once per week
through mid-January. Games are played on Saturdays through mid-January, then
one night a week and Saturdays until the end of the season in early February. The
first game will be on Saturday, December 4. The last game of the regular season
will be on Saturday, January 29. The end of the year tournament will begin the
week of January 31 with the Championship Games on Saturday, February 5.

Youth Basketball Registration
Once again the Acworth Police Department will be "Covering the
Bases" to raise money for the continued support of the Horizon
League. The mission of the Horizon League is to provide children and
young adults with developmental and physical disabilities the
opportunity to participate in athletic, social and cultural events,
develop lasting relationships among their peers, coaches and parents,
and show them that they are an important part of their community by
creating an environment of inclusion for both the kids and their
parents.

All donations are tax deductible and essential for us to offer low cost
programming throughout the year.

The event will start at 7:00 a.m. on September 18th and run until
7:00 a.m. September 19th and will be held at the Acworth Sports
Complex.

Covering The Bases
The Acworth Opry at Logan Farm Park will take place the second
Saturday of each month beginning in May and running through
October.

This month's concert will take place on Saturday, September11.
The first act, Nancy Creek, will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. and the
band Bruce Weeks Family will perform at 6:45 p.m. The event will
last until 8:30 p.m.

Bring your family, friends and chairs or blankets and enjoy great
Bluegrass music, good food, friendly folks and lots of fun.

Acworth Opry
The Acworth Business Association and the City of Acworth will be hosting an Arts and
Crafts Festival on Labor Day Weekend. The festival will have arts and crafts, food,
entertainment, and a kids zones with inflatables. The festival will kick-off with a parade on
Main Street in downtown Acworth on Saturday, September 4 at 10:00 a.m.. This year's
parade theme is Yesteryears - A Celebration of Acworth's 150th Birthday. We will be
awarding $275 for first place, $150 for second place and $75 for third place to the float
entry that best displays the heritage of our community.
