Acworth Turkey Chase 5K Fun Run & 2K Walk
The City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Department holds the annual Acworth Turkey Chase 5K Fun Run and 2K Walk each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Enjoy an exhilarating 5K run though Historic Downtown Acworth and along the shores of beautiful Lake Acworth. Walk, jog or run, participants of all ages and abilities are welcome. The run benefits the Tackle Hunger Food Drive which helps feed hundreds of local families each holiday season.
The City of Acworth is excited each year to make Santa’s Arrival the best yet! Santa arrives at the Depot in downtown Acworth on the first Friday in December each year. Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and Santa is scheduled to arrive at 6:30 p.m. There will be a host of live performances and activities until 8:30 p.m. to help Santa kickoff the holiday season. Don’t forget to visit Frana Brown Park, where you can peruse the beautiful Festival of Trees!
Bring the entire family to hear Mayor Tommy Allegood read The Night Before Christmas and watch the lighting of the tree on Main Street.
Enjoy pictures with Mr. Claus, eating candy canes with all his elves, and filling the streets with the holiday spirit. Pictures with Santa are free each year and begin at 6:45 p.m. There will not be a photographer onsite, so please plan on bringing your camera to capture the special moment.

Menorah Lighting Ceremony
The City of Acworth holds the Menorah Lighting Ceremony in December of each year during Hanukkah, to commemorate the Jewish Maccabees' military victory over Syrian-Greek oppression more than 2,000 years ago. Rabbi Zalman Charytan from the Chabad Jewish Center officiates the lighting with Mayor Tommy Allegood assisting.
The Menorah is located at the corner of Cowan Road and Main Street in Downtown Acworth. This is a free event and no registration is required.

Acworth Art Fest
The Acworth Art Fest is a two day celebration of whimsical and vibrant art in the springtime! Each April, the historic district on Main Street in downtown Acworth is a delightful backdrop for 100 whimsical and talented artisans from around the country. Their creative booth displays decorate our charming streets with paintings, pottery, metalwork, folk art, glass, jewelry, yard art and much more!
At the Acworth Art Fest, the always energetic Kidz Zone is filled with fun activities that make smiles bloom. This vibrant play land is the exhilarating place to be for young people and their happy parents. Of course, there is wonderful food from Acworth’s own eateries, and shoppers will also find delectable treats in the food court to satisfy their taste buds.
The City’s art scene is growing, downtown shops and galleries are hopping, and the Acworth Art Fest is the sweet cherry on top of our delicious and enchanting community!

Acworth Craft Beer Fest
The City of Acworth partners with Atlanta Beer Festivals each year to bring you this annual event! The Acworth Craft Beer Festival takes place on Senator Russell Avenue in November of each year. Participants will come out and enjoy over 100 craft beers, live music, great food and TONS of fun! This event is for people 21 and older, no kids or pets will be allowed. Registration is required for this event and limited tickets are available. Registration will include event entry, a souvenir cup, all beer samples, and entertainment.

Acworth Egg Hunt
The Acworth Egg Hunt is open to children through 5th grade and will definitely be an experience like you've never had before! Each year, children are divided into four age groups to hunt more than 50,000 eggs at the Acworth Sports Complex! The event is held on the Friday night two weeks before Easter Sunday each year. No registration is necessary, the event is free, just show up to the park.
Classic Car Cruises
Classic Car Cruises are held three times a year during the Spring, Fall and Summer months. To view the upcoming car cruises click here. Main Street in downtown Acworth is lined with classic cars from days gone by and some of today's best looking cars. The shows begin at 4:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. No entry fee is required, but a $2 donation to a local charity is requested to enter the cruise.
There is no charge for the general public to attend the event.

Daddy Daughter Dance
This event is open to all girls up to 13 years of age with their dad or adult male escort. The dance will be held on a Saturday in February at North Cobb High School in the Old Gym from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Each year has a unique theme for dads and daughters to enjoy. A DJ will be providing music for the "couples" to dance the night away and light refreshments will be provided. There will also be a photographer set up for optional pictures. All daughters will recieve a special gift to remember the night.
Day of Registration will only be held if space is available and increased rates will apply. In order to guarantee your child a spot at the dance please make sure to pre-register! Day of Registrations will receive a Welcome Gift and Going Away Gift only if supplies last.

Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up
Volunteers come out each year in late September and help remove litter and debris from the shores of the lake. The event is sponsored by the Acworth Parks and Recreation Department, the Acworth Lake Authority, and the Lake Allatoona Preservation Authority. This is a great project for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, community groups and anyone who wants to help keep Lake Acworth clean.
This event is part of the Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up.

Come out to Logan Farm Park for a spooky good time. The event is held on a Saturday before Halloween each year. For a minimal charge each child can participate in many different games and activities where they can win candy and prizes. Costume contests, broken up into varying age groups, will be going on throughout the event! There will also be a FREE hayride!
Parking is limited. Parking will be available at Logan Farm Park, Roberts School and the corner of Cherokee Street and Northside Drive. The event begins at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m.

July 4th Concert and Fireworks
Let freedom Ring! The City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association are proud to present one of the largest fireworks extravaganzas in Metro Atlanta.
Each year on July 4th, there will be live music and fireworks at Cauble Park. Live music will start at 4:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Admission to the concert is free; however tables are available for the July 4 concert. Tables are $50 each for City of Acworth residents and $70 for non-residents. With the table you get 6 chairs and one parking pass. This parking pass will allow you to park at Cauble Park as long as spots remain available. Parking at Cauble Park is by pass only on July 4 but you are not guaranteed a parking spot at Cauble Park with this pass, so please plan on arriving early.
If you do not have a parking pass or if the parking is full, you will need to park downtown and either walk or take a shuttle down to the park. The shuttle service is free. If you choose to park downtown, shuttles will pick you up at the City Hall parking lot, the Post Office parking lot, and the Library parking lot.

Memorial Day Ceremony
The ceremony to honor those who have given their lives in service to our country is held on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend at 10:00 a.m. at Veterans Memorial at Patriots Point. Veterans and current servicemen will pay tribute to brave men and women who have fought and died for our nation. Engraved pavers dedicated to those who have served in our armed forces that have been purchased since the previous Veterans Day will be presented at the event.

Mother Son Camp Out
The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is excited to offer our Mother Son Camp Out at Proctor Landing Park on a Saturday in September each year! This event is open to mothers and their sons, 13 and under. Participants will camp alongside the beautiful Lake Allatoona while learning about camping etiquette, campfire building, knot tying, games and a variety of other outdoor activities! Not an experienced camper? No worries! Volunteers will be present from the Boy Scouts of America to help the mother-son "couples" set up their campsites and assist with some of the educational sessions.
The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. with check in and campsite set up. Dinner will be provided, as well as breakfast the following morning. Participants will be responsible for providing their own snacks and camping equipment.

PTS Allatoona Triathlon
The City of Acworth partners with PTS Sports each year to host the Allatoona Triathlon at Dallas Landing Park! The event is always held on a Sunday in late June. This race is great for veterans and beginners alike. The swim is inviting for the novice swimmer because the course will be very calm and reasonably short at 500 meters. The bike course is just short of a 16 mile loop with a mix of fast, flat sections and a couple of small, rolling hills along the course. Finally, participants will finish with a 5K run.

Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival
The North Cobb Rotary Club, City of Acworth, and the Georgia Barbecue Association partner each year to bring you the Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival presented by Superior Plumbing. This event is held in May of each year at Cauble Park. All proceeds from this event are distributed amongst several local charities, so everyone come out and help make a difference in your community!
This two day event features a Friday night concert under the stars and a BBQ competition on Saturday! Teams from all over the Southeast compete in professional and amateur divisions to see who will take home the title. For a small fee, you can taste your way through some of the best BBQ in the Southeast!
Parking will not be available at the park so please park downtown and use the provided shuttles.

Taste of Acworth
The Taste of Acworth is an annual event that takes place one Saturday in October from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The City of Acworth partners with the Acworth Business Association and JRM Management to host this event on Main Street in Downtown Acworth. This event benefits numerous local schools and charities in our community. Approximately 18,000 visitors taste their way through this collection of delicacies every year and it is expected to evolve tremendously! There are over 120 booths from local restaurants and businesses, plus two live entertainment stages!

The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department and Georgia Multi-Sports hosts a women's triathlon at Dallas Landing Park each year. The event is generally held on a Sunday morning in early August. The event consists of a 400 yard swim, 13 mile bike ride, and a 5K run. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. and concludes with an awards ceremony at 11:00 a.m.
