Headquarters Operations

Sgt. Endicott has been a member of the Acworth Police Department since 2001 and has been a certified police officer since 2000. Sgt. Endicott has held several positions while being employed with the Acworth Police Department such as Community Oriented Police Coordinator, State Certification Manager and Jail Administrator. Sgt. Endicott has been assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division for four years and specializes in crimes against children.

The goal of the Criminal Investigations Division is to provide the citizens of Acworth with the most efficient investigative division possible. The Criminal Investigations Division has a number of responsibilities and is a vital part of the Acworth Police Department. The focus of this division is to investigate all crimes that occur within the city limits of Acworth. This division is also responsible for storing and maintaining all evidence submitted, as well as conducting Internal Investigations. C.I.D. works closely with other law enforcement agencies as well as the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office in preparing cases for trial. Some of the more serious crimes that C.I.D. investigates include:

  • Homicide
  • Rape
  • Armed Robbery
  • Kidnapping
  • Crimes Against Children
  • Burglary
  • Aggravated Assault

Members of this division regularly attend specialized training classes to further their knowledge. Each member of this division is capable of processing crime scenes which include latent print development, collection of evidence and photographing the crime scene.

Once a report has been filed with a patrol officer, the report is then reviewed by Sergeant Endicott. Sergeant Endicott is responsible for distributing those cases to a Detective. Each member of C.I.D. has numerous cases which are prioritized according to a number of aspects: solvability factors, nature of the crime and how recently the crime occurred. Each Detective is responsible for working each case as diligently as possible, until its successful completion.

If you would like to speak with the Detective who has been assigned your case, please feel free to email or call that Detective directly.
