Captain Wayne Dennard has over twenty years of business administration experience and has been a member of the Acworth Police Department since 2003. He is the Acworth Police Department’s PIO making him responsible for the distribution of information to the media and the public. He serves as the commanding officer for the Administrative Services Division which encompasses Records and Information Technology. The Records Section of the department is responsible for the collection, filing and retention of all reports and other administrative duties. Information Technology or IT personnel are responsible for the maintenance of the departmental computers and communication systems. IT also provides statistical information to command staff on a regular basis regarding criminal activity and calls for service.
Captain Dennard also serves as the commanding officer for the Office of Training and Personnel, the Office of Community Affairs, and the Acworth Detention Center.
A certified POST Instructor Captain Dennard has received training at the Institute of Police Technology and Management at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. He has also completed the Professional Management Program through the Georgia Law Enforcement Command Collage and Columbus State University. Prior to becoming an Acworth Police officer Captain Dennard served on The Acworth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and has resided in the North Cobb Area for over 40 years.
