Daddy Daughter Dance
The Acworth Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting our annual Daddy Daughter Dance on Saturday, February 11, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at North Cobb High School in the Gym.
This year the theme is "A Mad Hatter Tea Party".
The Queen has invited all girls ages 13 and under to take a trip through the rabbit hole and enjoy a very special tea party in Wonderland. Dressed in tea party dresses and jackets for the dads, mad hatter hats are highly encouraged! It will be an evening of great times for all.
Aldermen Recognize Individuals at February 2nd Meeting
At the February 2 Regular Meeting, Acworth Parks and Recreation Coordinator Frank White and the Acworth Achievers (after school mentoring program) recognized lifetime resident Claude Johnson for his tribute to Black History Month as a citizen and coach who organized the first African-American youth baseball team in Acworth in 1963. Mr. White, one of the lead mentors of the Acworth Achievers program, stated that instead of merely learning about Black History Month in the classroom, the achievers should honor local African-American citizens who have made a positive impact in their community.
