Current Members of the Board of Aldermen



Post 1: Butch Price

Albert L. Price. 4329 Collins Circle, Acworth. Born in Alabama.

Albert “Butch” Price received a Bachelors Degree from Livingston State College in Alabama, a Masters Degree from West Georgia College and an EDS from the University of Georgia. After completing his studies in 1964, he moved to Acworth and began teaching at Acworth Elementary School.

Mr. Price started working in school administration in 1970 after teaching for six years. He was principal at Powder Springs, and in 1978, became principal of Acworth Elementary School. Alderman Price retired in 1996 and ran for public office. He has 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

Post 2: Gene Pugliese
Gene Pugliese, 46, is a local native who graduated from North Cobb High School in 1979.

Gene, his wife Cyndi and two children, Aisling and Gabriel reside in downtown Acworth.

Gene earned an Architectural Engineering degree from Southern Tech where he made the honor role. Gene is Founder and President of Paladin Construction, Inc., a commercial contracting company in Acworth.

Gene was born at Kennestone Hospital; he spent his first 10 years of life traveling with his family during his father's active duty in the Air Force. During these early years, Gene lived in many different states in the US and South America. Gene's maternal family has been traced back six generations in Cobb County.

Gene joined the Air Force in 1980 and retired from the Air Force Reserve in 2003. He spent active duty time in the Middle East during the Gulf War. Gene is active in the Acworth Business Association, Northwest Optimist Club, Acworth youth sports, serves on the Board of Trustees at his church, and is on the Board of Trustees for The Foundation of North Metro Technical College.
Post 3: Bob Weatherford

Bob Weatherford and his wife Lori have lived in Acworth for 12 years. They both are active in local charities as co-founders of "Shop with a Hero," and Lori is the founder of "Tackle Hunger," now in its 9th year. Bob and Lori were named "2004 Acworth Citizens of the Year" at the Cobb Chamber breakfast. Bob is now in his third term as Alderman and serves as Liaison for the Administration and MIS Departments and is Chair for the Police Department.

Bob & Lori with their sons Sean and Justin and daughter Nikkie live on Logan Road near Logan Farm Park. Bob was a Reserve Police Officer for over 20 years and spent the last eight at Acworth PD before becoming a City councilman.

Bob was also President of the Cobb Municipal Association in 2007. He is an alumnus of the 2005 Cobb Chamber "Leadership Cobb" program, the 2003 "Honorary Commanders" program, and 2006 Regional Leadership Institute for Atlanta Regional Commission.

He also serves on the School Council for Awtrey Middle School and is the city liaison with North Cobb High School for the "Young Alderman" curriculum. He is also on the North Metro Technical College Foundation board. He is very active in the Cobb Chamber of Commerce representing the city at their meetings.

Bob has a BA Degree in Math from Huntingdon College in Montgomery and spent most of his career in high tech field with over 20 years at Amdahl and STK Corporations in consulting and professional services sales. He now works for Professional Group Associates as Director for an Architectural Design Build company specializing in commercial and governmental construction. Post 4: Tim Richardson

Tim Richardson is a native of Marietta and is descended from some of Cobb's earliest settlers. A resident of Acworth since 1980, he and his wife Marty have three adult sons.

Richardson is an alumnus of Marietta High School, and a graduate of Chattahoochee Technical College. He has been associated with Böwe Bell & Howell in Durham, N.C., since 1982 as a Senior Customer Service Engineer specializing in high speed mail processing systems.

He served as a Local Board Member with the United States Selective Service System for twenty years. He is recipient of the President's Award of the North Cobb Touchdown Club. He has volunteered with the Acworth Youth Football Association, North Georgia Youth Football League, Acworth Baseball Association, Kennworth Track Club, and the North Cobb High School football and track programs.

Richardson is an amateur radio operator (W4IOU) and a computer hobbyist. Other leisure time pursuits include bicycling, photography, genealogy, curio and relic firearms, gardening, golf and local history.

In his third term on the Acworth Board of Aldermen, Richardson was sworn into office in January 1998. He currently serves as Chairman of the Administration committee and co-chairman of the Parks and Recreation committee.

Post 5: Tim Houston

Tim Houston, a native of Acworth, is married to Janice. They have one son and two daughters.

Tim is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry. He is an alumnus of North Cobb High School and a graduate of North Metro Technical College.

He is employed by Cobb Energy, in Marietta, GA. Tim serves on the Citizens Advisory Board for Northwest Bank & Trust and the Acworth Elementary School Council. He is the Pastor and Founder of Joshua Gospel Tabernacle located in Acworth, GA and A. C. O. R. (Acworth Community Outreach Revitalization).

Tim Houston is an avid supporter of the Acworth Football & Baseball Association. He is involved in the after-school enrichment program with Awtrey Middle & Acworth Elementary School.

He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Acworth Power & Public Works Departments and liaison for the Acworth Tourism Board.
