Post 1: Butch PriceButch Price

Albert “Butch” Price received a Bachelors Degree in 1964 from Livingston State College in Alabama, a Masters Degree from West Georgia College in 1969, and an EDS from the University of Georgia, in 1977.  After completing his studies in 1964, Butch moved to Acworth and began teaching at Acworth Elementary School.

Butch started working in school administration in 1970 after teaching for six years. He was principal at Powder Springs Elementary, and in 1978, became principal of Acworth Elementary School.  

Butch retired in 1996 and ran for public office, which he was elected to the Acworth Board of Aldermen and is currently serving his sixth term.  Butch has three children and three grandchildren.


Post 2: Gene PuglieseGene Pugliese

Gene Pugliese is an Acworth/Kennesaw native who graduated from North Cobb High School in 1979 and went on to earn an Architectural Engineering degree from Southern Polytechnic State University. Gene is married to Billie Jo, has two wonderful children, Aisling & Gabriel, and resides in downtown Acworth.

Gene is owner of Quality Service Contractors, LLC, a commercial general contracting firm.  

Gene retired from the Air Force Reserves in 2003 and is a veteran of Desert Shield/Storm.  Gene was elected to the Acworth Board of Aldermen in 2007 and is currently serving his fourth term.


Post 3: Brett NorthBrett North

Brett North is an Atlanta native; he and his wife Ann have lived in Acworth since 2000. Brett has a wide array of business experience in the restaurant and retail franchising industry having served in several regional and district operations positions. He and Ann had owned and operated four Jiffy Lube franchises in Cobb County for several years when they moved to Acworth. They sold the businesses at the end of 2003.  The Norths have been married more than 40 years. 

Brett is currently employed by Georgia Funeral Care on Main St. in Acworth, where he serves as Director of Family Services and Community Liaison.  Brett’s spiritual gift is the gift of service. He is at his happiest when he is helping / serving others thus making his positions with Georgia Funeral Care and as a City Alderman the perfect places to accomplish and accommodate the use of his gift.  He counts them both as blessings. 

The North’s are charter members and were actively involved in One Heart Church, prior to the pandemic.  Brett served on the Board of Directors there for eight years. Brett is the founder and president of Tetelestai Missions Ministry, Inc. He was elected to Post 3 of the Acworth Board of Aldermen in a special election in 2014.


Post 4: Tim RichardsonTim Richardson

Tim Richardson is a native of Marietta and is descended from some of Cobb County's earliest settlers. A resident of Acworth since 1980, he and his wife Marty have three adult sons and five grandsons. He has served on the Acworth Board of Aldermen since 1998.

Richardson is an alumnus of Marietta High School and a graduate of Chattahoochee Technical College. He is retired from Bell & Howell in Durham, N.C. as a Senior Customer Service Engineer specializing in high speed mail processing and sorting systems.

He served as a Local Board Member with the United States Selective Service System for twenty years and as a Commissioner for the Acworth Housing Authority. He is recipient of the President's Award of the North Cobb Touchdown Club. He has volunteered with the Acworth Youth Football Association, North Georgia Youth Football League, Acworth Baseball Association, Kennworth Track Club, and the North Cobb High School football and track programs. He is a member of the Save Acworth History Foundation.

Richardson is an amateur radio operator (WS4V), a former Boy Scout and Explorer Scout and was inducted into Scouting's Order of the Arrow. He is a two-time graduate of the Acworth Police Department's Citizens Police Academy, serves on the Cobb County Community Emergency Response Team and serves in the Georgia State Defense Force. He is a Commissioner of the Housing Authority of Cobb County.


 Alderman HoustonPost 5: Tim Houston

Tim Houston, a native of Acworth, is married to Janice. They have one son, two daughters and six grandchildren, which they adore. 

Tim retired from Cobb EMC after 25 years of service. He currently serves on the Electric Cities of Georgia (ECG) Board of Directors and serves as a member on the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG) Power Board. 

Tim is an avid supporter of the Expanded Horizon and Acworth Achievers. He attended North Cobb High School and North Metro Technical College.

Tim was elected to the Acworth Board of Aldermen in 2004.
