HORIZON LEAGUES
Horizon Baseball League

The Horizon League provides children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in athletic events, develop lasting relationships among their peers, coaches, and parents and demonstrate to them that they are an important part of their community by creating an environment of inclusion for both the participants and their families.
The League is open to youth and young adults ages five and up. Teams are broken up by age groups. Games are non-competitive and each player on the roster gets on base before the opposing team gets to bat.

Soccer ClinicGet ready to play some soccer on the Horizon Field! This clinic accommodates individuals of all disabilities, ages five and up. The bulk of the clinic focuses on soccer skill-building activities and will conclude with a scrimmage game. This clinic usually takes place on a Saturday in the spring.

Mileage ClubLace up your walking shoes! Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is pleased to offer the Horizon Mileage Club for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities. Strengthen, tone, and stretch your muscles as you walk and talk during this program taking place twice a year. Athletes will walk trails in and around Logan Farm Park while their laps get tracked and recorded. Each week the athletes will be rewarded based on their progress!

Adaptive YogaThe Acworth Parks and Recreation Department is offering yoga classes for individuals with special needs. All levels of ability are welcome. The class focuses on teaching modified yoga postures and breathing techniques. Classes are held each winter for a small registration fee.

HORIZON EVENTS
Cal Ripken ClinicThe Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department partners with Day's Chevrolet in Acworth each year to hold a one day clinic at Suntrust Park for individuals with special needs. All ages and levels of ability are welcome! This free clinic focuses on teaching the fundamentals of baseball and ends with an autograph session with a retired Braves athlete!
This clinic takes place on a Wednesday in June from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Spots are limited and rsvp's must be made in advance.
