Proclamation in Observance of Juneteenth, June 19

Alderman North presented a proclamation in observance of Juneteenth (June 19) to Pastor Frank Johnson and members of Zion Hill Baptist Church.  Juneteenth is a time to celebrate the many achievements and contributions that African Americans have made to our economic, cultural, spiritual, and political development because of their freedom.  Events have been scheduled in observance of Juneteenth to include a free concert by Total Package Band at Logan Farm Park, Saturday, June 18, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Pastor Johnson presented replication of a letter from an African American who was listed in the infantry from the civil-way era for the City's historical archives.
