Election Information

County, State and Federal elections have three polling places within the City of Acworth. Please check your voter's registration card to see which is your polling place or click  https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do for more information. For questions regarding early voting, polling locations, or registration status, please call Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration at 770-528-2300. Voters must be registered 30 days prior to an election to be eligible to vote. Voter registration applications may be obtained at the various public buildings: City Hall, Library, Cobb County Government Service Centers and the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration or you can register online at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do

Terms for Acworth Aldermen & Mayor are four years, with elections being held every two years. The City of Acworth has one polling place for City Elections - the Acworth Community Center, 4361 Cherokee Street, Acworth, 30101. The candidate receiving a majority of votes shall be declared elected. If a candidate does not receive a majority of the votes, a run-off election will be held. To be eligible for office in the City of Acworth, a person must be 18 years of age and meet the requirements of a qualified voter in the City of Acworth as prescribed by State law, and must have been a resident of the City of Acworth for 12 months. Elected officials take office at the first regular meeting in January after the election.
